My sweet friend Dori Schoenbein had a portrait of our beloved dog made. She knew we were suffering a terrible loss. The painting means the world to us. We walk by and see our bear bear daily. She is always so thoughtful and just knows the right thing to do. She is just the best. She is so deserving of winning something special.

My wonderful friend Stephanie Fraser is really an angel. She does so much for her family/friends and the community. If you're sick she brings you food. If you need a hug she gives you 5! If you need anything she will drop what she is doing. I lost my mom when I was 4 and I don't have a lot of family. She has stepped in and loved me, my 13 year old daughter and husband as her own. She really is the kindest human on earth. Just ask around!!!! I would love her to be recognized for all that she does!!!!

Early January 2022 my good friend Nina had her kindergarten class learn about the letter N and had it represent nurse. They all drew cute cards and she dropped them off to show appreciation for what I was doing during the pandemic. However her job as a K teacher with 3 kids of her own was equally as hard!! A sweet act of kindness made me feel seen!

I own an organic, natural housecleaning company and last month I started a deep cleaning program called hearts and hands to donate home cleaning to local families that are in desperate need. Last month I donated a full house cleaning and reorganization to a father and his five children that lost their mother unexpectedly. This month I am donating a clean to a paralyzed man in a wheel chair that can’t do much cleaning. Every month inn2024 we are donating free cleans to those in real need. When my youngest was little, we were on a long flight and the sweetest couple sitting next to me helped me when he would get antsy. They would hold him and play with him and allow him to look out the window. They could have sat in their seats in peace but they chose to help a stranger out. A random act of kindness I will never forget!

On Christmas Day I stopped at a gas station with my kids and I saw a man that was likely homeless standing outside. He was seeking shelter from the rain and trying to make a sign on a piece of cardboard. I went back to my car after leaving the store and grabbed a $20 bill and gave it to him. He thanked me and said he hadn’t received any money that day from anyone and was starving. When I saw him come back out of the store I noticed the only thing he bought was a hotdog. It was both heartbreaking and humbling. I hope he finds his way.

I watched as my wife saw a young man with special needs at the gym struggling to use the equipment. About a dozen people walked past him while looking in his direction. My wife noticed and stopped to help him. It was something so small but big to the young man she helped.

When I was going through chemo and started losing my hair, A woman I'd met in a networking group who had a salon offered to clip my hair off (at no charge and privately after hours), so I didn't have to suffer it falling out in clumps. When I got to the salon, it was arranged and decorated (just for me, like I was a "VIP"). Several employees were also there, having donated their precious after-hours time (even though they didn't know me.) Because of such generous and overwhelming kindness, instead of being sad and distressed, the time was made SO special, even celebratory, full of joyous support which dispelled my dread (of being bald), and empowered me to embrace a new moniker, that "Bald is Beautiful!"

When I see a person who is experiencing homelessness outside of a gas station, I ask them if they would like anything and I go buy it for them and usually a few extra items.

I was at the post office and noticed a young man struggling to use the automated postage machine. I started talking to him and it was clear he was unable to properly label an envelope. He was trying to get a copy of his birth certificate. I filled out his envelope for him and gave him a stamp. It felt wonderful to be able to help somebody else.

My kids made bags at church for the homeless. They gave one to a local homeless man along with some snacks they picked out at the store. He was very thankful! The kiddos love to share kindness, I'm so proud of them!

Offered to pick up a coworker who was taking the bus to work until she gets a car. She didn’t ask, but she is so grateful and we have became closer on our rides.

Almost 10 years ago now… our elderly neighbor had been taken by my husband’s fire dept to the hospital when we were coming home from errands. We wondered how he was doing and remembered he had a cat he adored left behind. My husband called multiple EDs in the area and finally tracked him down in Seattle for the VA. He was pretty sick but stable and worried about his cat Ziggy. My husband and I drove to get his keys and started taking care of the cat while he was hospitalized. Unfortunately he was in and out of the hospital and passed away, leaving behind his little guy who we took home to make sure he was cared for until his time came. All started with my husband’s random act of wanting to check in on our neighbor and his cat, knowing he was all alone.

I'm not sure this qualifies but here's my story 🙂 When chit chatting with the ladies of NWMA about their signature candle line, I noticed a pretty jar on their table that didn't have their signature scent. So, as a surprise, I found the exact beautiful jar they had and put their signature fragrance in it and gave it to them as a gift of thanks for all they have done to support my small business. All of these ladies inspire me - they are strong, beautiful, hard-working and sweet as can be!!!

After my brother died, I had many well meaning people reach out to ask how they could help. I didn’t know what to say, so I’d respond with a heart emoji and a “thank you!”. One friend though- she text me and said “You have to pick one. I’ll come get you and we’ll go out for coffee OR I’ll drop coffee at your door and text you once I’ve driven away.” The most simple thing and it still brings me to tears! I chose the coffee at my door and I think often of the simple kindness she showed me. She didn’t “need” to see me, she just wanted me to feel seen.
